The Venay chalet, in Le Grand-BornandLe Grand-Bornand is two places. Down below, the village, its church, its shops and its everyday life, which does not stop when the lifts close. Above it, Le Chinaillon, the resort, where you put your skis on outside the door. In between, a valley of farms and chalets that makes reblochon cheese. People come in winter for family skiing, in a ski area on a human scale, and in summer to walk, climb up to the passes and come back down for dinner in the village. La Clusaz is next door. We have been operating in Le Grand-Bornand since January 2019.

When to come
Le Grand-Bornand has two seasons, and they are nothing alike.
Winter makes the year
The February holidays are the most sought-after period of the year and are booked months ahead. Christmas and New Year follow. In January and March, the snow is there and prices are gentler.
The Biathlon World Cup
Le Grand-Bornand hosts a stage of the Biathlon World Cup. The village fills up, book early.
The mountains in green
Hiking, cycling up the passes, lakes, mountain pastures. August is the most sought-after summer month.
Peace and quiet
The lifts are closed. This is the time for anyone looking for silence and empty trails, at a low price.
